Boeing Aircraft Interiors Plant Addition
[Ron Joseph prior personal experience as Architectural Department Manager and Designated Corporate Architect with SSOE, Inc., Architects & Engineers
The project consisted of a 500,000sq.ft. addition to an existing 500,000sq.ft. industrial building for Boeing Commercial Airplane Company. The addition increased the capacity for fabrication of aircraft interior components. The steel framed structure consists of high and low bay working areas with mezzanines and personnel block-houses. Because of the long travel distances to exits, overhead fire corridors and below floor tunnels were required. The owner asked for a building matching the existing building finishes and construction as well as the exterior metal siding. The building is adjacent to Boeing's mammoth Aircraft Final Assembly Building.
