George Gee Hummer
Liberty Lake, Washington

Following the prototype design, provided by General Motors Hummer,  resulted in extremely high square foot pricing for the 7,000sq.ft. automobile showroom and service facility.   Exposed structural steel and "riveted" connections, curved steel beams, and the various shaped window panes contributed to the high prices for the small building.   Contractor, structural engineer, and architect collaborated to modify the structure and construction details sufficiently to reduce the owner's cost by over 35% and still provide the appearance acceptable to the automobile company.
