Joseph Residence Remodel
The project was a whole house remodeling and addition starting with an 850sq.ft. single story "ranch" and finishing with a 2,200sq.ft. contemporary home. Over 90% of the actual construction trade work was done by Ron Joseph. Ron, his wife and young daughter lived in the home throughout the remodel. Two drafters, where Ron was employed, helped with getting the wood bearing wall framing up then a crane lifted the 40' long wood trusses that span the roof. After the roofing was on and walls sheathed, the existing roof was dismantled and tossed into a dumpster through the future greenhouse window. Once the interior walls and second floor were framed an electrician and plumber did their work with Ron learning and assisting. The house was a 2-page feature in the Chicago Tribune newspaper and won a 2nd place for exterior residential remodeling from a national remodeling magazine.
