The Continental (unbuilt)
The project consisted of renovating an existing 3 and 4 story masonry super block for retail and office use and adding a 12-story residential tower at one corner. The tower's quad conical open pipe grid "turrets" recall the traditional turrets of the nearby County Building. The tower repeats the corbeled brick cornice of the existing masonry block below. The low roof area was dedicated to game courts, and landscaped roof garden.
